Join us for a free meal and public open house to celebrate our remarkable community on October 24th from 4 to 8 PM at ILLIO, 17 Tulane Rd. Whether you’ve attended regularly, just a few times, or not at all, if you’re hearing about this gathering, you’re invited to join the celebration!

All food will be vegan and gluten-free options will be provided. ILLIO Studio, 17 E. Tulane Rd. Stay for the whole time or come and go throughout the afternoon.

This free meal was generously provided by a donation from Literata (AKA Anne) in gratitude for the welcome they received at the end of their life. Lit attended Thursday morning meditation from their home and hospice via Zoom and met one-on-one with Kisei. They passed away at the end of June this year. Those who know Lit through their Wiccan coven, or in any other capacity, are also very welcome to join!

Mud Lotus Sangha turns 10 years old this year. MLS was formed back in the spring of 2016 when Seth Josephson, Sara Provenzale, and friends joined to make a community dedicated to the principles of stillness, belonging, and engagement. By 2020, we maintained a regular meditation three mornings a week and two Sundays a month at ILLIO, as well as regular visits to support Buddhist inmates at Marian Correctional Institute. Covid lockdowns shrunk our practice, but Seth kept hosting walking meditation outdoors at Walhalla Ravine, as well as Full Moon and other meditation events outdoors at Animals Garden and Whetstone Park. In 2023, Amy Kisei, Sensei, and Patrick Dunn joined the community and stepped into leadership roles. Bringing a wealth of knowledge and practice from their extensive experience at Great Vow Monastery in Oregon, they invigorated our little community with new energy. This year, we welcome Rev. Catherine Spaeth into the Central Ohio Zen community. On October 24th, we celebrate this history and all the relations and interconnections, past and future, we share through the multifaceted jewel of Sangha.
