This Autumn we will host another ango, which is an opportunity to deepen your practice with the support of sangha. We will be using the Vimalakirti Sutra, one of the foundational Mahayana sutras that is thought to be the precursor to the Zen koan tradition, as our guide. The sutra invites us into the heart of awakening, and asks us to look into the nature of suffering in our world and our own minds. It also invites us into a playful, flexible, expansive and loving view of ourselves and all beings.
This is also an opportunity to reflect on your practice intentions and with the support of the sangha to live those intentions whole-heartedly. This could include commitments like practicing the precepts, being kind to ourselves and others, or committing to specific practices like chanting, bowing, or increased meditation, it could also involve studying the text or something else.
Wednesday night dharma talks will offer reflections on the sutra, there will also be opportunities to deepen practice through 1/2 day and full day retreats and study groups. We will also have opportunities to connect more deeply with sangha as we engage in practice in a sustained way together.
